Blood, Toxicology Report Leads To DUI, Other Charges For New Canaan Man Who Crashed Into Pole

A 46-year-old area man was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and other charges after crashing into a pole.

Christian Russo, of New Canaan, was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 4, after he surrendered himself to police on an active warrant in connection with the Dec. 10, 2019 crash, said New Canaan Lt. Jason Ferraro.

According to police, Russo allegedly hit the pole at Main Street and St. John's Place while intoxicated. A blood/toxicology test found that he was under the influence when the crash occurred. 

Russo was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without insurance.

He was released on a promise to appear ticket and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Feb. 18.
